GSL carbon steel: cost-effective material for medium stresses
We can provide you with expert advice on the selection of your materials:
We recommend the use of unalloyed steels for general
applications where the component is exposed to medium stresses. The group
of carbon steels is used in normalised or tempered condition.
The materials achieve tensile strengths of up to 600 N/mm² with breaking elongations of between 15 and 25 percent.
As alloying elements, the carbon steels contain manganese and silicon in addition to 0.1 to 0.5 percent carbon.
